LC360 Motorcycle Bingo Tour

Lake Cumberland and South Central Kentucky has some of the best motorcycling roads in the world. The Lake Cumberland 360 Bingo Tour is a regional ride with destinations and family events all around the Lake Cumberland Region. From the southwest corner of Lake Cumberland at Wolf Creek Dam, one of our favorite Saturday or Sunday loops runs around Lake Cumberland takes us through Jamestown, Russell Springs, Nancy, Somerset, Burnside, Monticello, Albany and back to Wolf Creek Dam – about 165 miles. With plenty of time to side trip to a marina or restaurant for lunch and still have time to see a local site or two of interest.

Life Jacket World Record Day

Come out on Saturday May 18 and help us break the world record for Life Jacket awareness. Registration begins at 8:30 at the Marina with the official count being from 9:30 to 10:00 am. Master of Ceremonies will be Ronald McDonald and the first 50 registrants will receive a FREE McDonald’s sandwich coupon. Register for door prizes including life jackets, reels and rods and much more!

We will also be offering a boat safety and class and certification will be offered from 10am to 3pm at the Marina. Certification will be by the KY Dept. of Fish & Wildlife. Registration will be the day of or you can pre-register at (502) 564-3400 ext. 4509 or zacharycampbell@ky.gov

The Lighthouse Cafe will be opening full time on May 17th . Hours will be 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Officers earn Water Safety Award

On March 13, 2013, Conley Bottom hosted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as they presented safety awards to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. The Nashville District representatives presented Officers from the f Fish and Wildlife Resource with the Great Lakes and Ohio Division 2012 Water Safety Award.

Capt. Allen Stansbury, a project officer at Wolf Creek and Lake Cumberland made the presentation and told the group that the award is given to them for their outstanding efforts towards promoting water safety on Lake Cumberland.

Tim Catron and his staff are the driving force behind one of the largest and most successful Water Safety campaigns in Kentucky. He said officers often spend months planning, and deciding options and ways of making boating safer around Lake Cumberland.

It’s Official! Mark your Calendars and make your plans because
the Lake Cumberland Raft Up is back once again August 10, and the 2013 edition promises to be bigger than ever!

The lake’s largest event will be held on August 10th and at the same Shinbone location as the first two; 1.5 miles West of Conley Bottom.

Once again…this even is FREE!

Completion of Wolf Creek Dam Repairs

News Release : March 6, 2013 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Corp News Release

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is ahead of schedule on the Wolf Creek Dam Foundation Remediation Project and is now making plans to raise the water level in Lake Cumberland this summer.

“The entire team has been working very hard towards getting this project completed and intends to raise the lake to elevation 700-705 feet by the summer of 2013, which is great news for everyone who loves to recreate at Lake Cumberland. More importantly, completion of the barrier wall will provide the safety to the dam and protection to the communities downstream. It will also enhance our ability to generate power and reduce low water environmental impacts” said Lt. Col. James A. DeLapp, Nashville District commander.
