Lake Cumberland is about one day's travel from most of Mid-America. The journey through Kentucky is a scenic and enjoyable drive. Other interest sites in the area to visit are Cumberland Falls State Park (45mi), Big South Fork National Park & scenic train ride (35mi), and Mill Springs Historical Park (5mi). |
Despite rumors to the contrary, the US Army Corps of Engineers (managers of Lake Cumberland) have assurred Conley Bottom Resort that there will be no significant lake lowering until 2007. At that time the Corps will begin maintanence work on the Wolfcreek Dam which currently is experiencing “aging” and “seepage.” Click here for the latest information from the Corps.
